It is Spring in the Pacific Northwest, and the osprey is returning.

The osprey is a master of both wind and wave. The bird can have up to a seventy-foot wingspan, making it fast and powerful in flight. In addition, they have piercing yellow eyes that enable them to see into the depths of the waters they fish.

Ospreys have long migrations to return to their breeding areas in the Pacific Northwest. Ospreys are generally monogamous and often mate for life. The male selects a nesting site in a dead tree or on a cliff near the water when it is nesting time. The female arranges the sticks to form the nest. The couple will return to the same nest every spring. When another osprey tries to take over the nest, they will defend their nest At All Costs.
